I miss this place so much, guys.
Sorry I haven’t posted in a while. There haven’t really been any travels I’m going on, especially since I’m in school. The only possible trip I see would happen in December. I’m getting more active on another one of my blogs here on Tumblr, so hopefully I’ll remember to post in this one too!
Love you all, hope you’re having great travels without me! As always, I’m open for questions. <3
Realizing that it’s my last night abroad, but I can find 4 channels in english, 3 of which are news. One is Fox, but who likes Fox? (The Simpsons were on earlier so that was fun)
Also, I thought it was pretty cool, I got a really neat poster of a drawn Flamenco dancer with my name printed on it. :] I’m excited to put it on my wall when I get back to school!
And, last note: I think I’m going to miss the tapas in Spain a lot. (gonna go look up good places in LA! :P )
Okay, random ramble is random. Gonna go do things. Lataaaaa
Okay, so I’ve got to get up early tomorrow and pack, because my trip is coming to a close! Tonight is my last night in Barcelona; tomorrow we spend a night in Madrid and then we catch our flight back home the next morning.
I won’t be able to recap until tomorrow, pictures and all, so please be patient! Thanks to all those who’ve liked/reblogged my posts!! I really appreciate it. :]
After I get home I want to make this blog dedicated to something else (since I won’t really be traveling much afterwards). Maybe make it about summer adventures? Maybe. Any suggestions? Maybe it’ll inspire me to actually get out and DO STUFF.
Anyway, gotta sleep, thanks again and post tomorrow! ><
If you didn’t already know, people smoke a lot in Europe (especially in Spain, even more-so than London). I mean, A LOT A LOT.
At least a fair amount more than most Americans are exposed to. Everyone lights up on the streets, on restaurant terraces, in their cars….
I’ve gotten a bit more used to it (the smoke fries my nose >< ) and now it definitely doesn’t seem as strong to me.
And even though I have smoked a couple times, I don’t make a habit of it, but I know the taste. And right now, I swear I taste it in my mouth. It’s….kind of freaky.
Or maybe I’m just crazy YOU KNOW WHATEVER.
Anyway, not bashing people who do smoke or anything, just noticing the difference and how much of a change it is versus super anti-smoking-anywhere California. Okies. Lata!
This, by the way, is where we’re going tomorrow. The Catalan Music Theater (i think it’s name is? auditorium? something.)
We’re gonna take a tour or something around in there, so hopefully that’s interesting. Late here, so I’m off to sleep, NIGHT!
Very ingenious way of painting. This guy was outside the Picasso Museum selling his work for a Euro each. Really quite amazing. I’ll post a picture of one later, after I figure out which one I’m gonna have for myself! xD
Wasn’t allowed to take pictures inside the Picasso museum of course, so here’s the inner courtyard. I really love it’s style.
Cathedral in Barcelona, Spain. I was too sexy to be let in.
Me and my shorts. Ah, well.
not much else. Seriously, today was a pretty laid back day, and nothing much got done. We even left the apartment earlier than usual! (ugh, and even earlier for tomorrow! ><) All we did was walk around some more, and I was proud of myself because when we needed to head back I KNEW WHERE WE WERE. HELL YEAH.
(I wasn’t sure how we suddenly ended up back at the place we began in the morning, but I knew where we were from there! xD )
When we were walking around, we ended up at the city cathedral. My parents wanted to check it out, and when we walked up, I couldn’t get in because of my shorts. Ah well, I’m too sexy for that church. Literally. LOL….ANYHOO I just chilled outside in the warm sun (it’s getting a bit cooler and tolerable out nowadays) and waited for them to come out.
Then we were off to the museum. I’d been to the museum before, but it seems like this time they set it up a bit differently. It was a bit easier last time to navigate, since it was pretty chronological. IMHO: I really like Picasso overall as an artist, but I am probably a bigger fan of his sketches and his early work, before he got into his Blue Period and Cubism and such.
As we were leaving, I saw this guy making really cool painted glass things, for about a Euro each. He wasn’t that well off, but just about EVERYONE passing by stopped to take a look at what he’d painted. Myself included! I bought some, and as I put them in my bag I saw that he’d actually painted them with his fingers! (too poor for a brush I assume.) Ahhh I’m glad he was getting lots of business. He was really good!
Then, we stopped at two bakeries, I got some delicious cookies…and pastries…and oh my god I’m going to gain weight stop looking at me like that I AM NOT A FATTY.
Oh wait. Yes I am. :]
I ate two of them (chocolate chip and hazelnut) when I got home and promptly took a nap. The trip is winding down, but I definitely think my body feels it. Ahhhh only one more day in Barcelona! Let’s make it a good one! :P
It’s raining in Barcelona now. It’s so weird, I feel like the only place that was actually constant with it’s weather (in that I got what I expected for summer weather) was in Madrid. Hot, and a bit humid.
Now its warmish, and really humid. Luckily, the AC in the apartment keeps out the humidity. But I can hear the rain outside. So that’s nice.
However, that also means I can hear every noise our neighbors make, whether it be upstairs or across the space between buildings echoing in the alley. Yup.
Okay. Early morning, let’s hope I can make it! >< (and that the weather isn’t too bad!)
And, last but not least, let us not forget the profiteroles. (cream puffs) It was completely heavenly. :]
Europe does desserts RIGHT.
Thought this was cool: a picture I took of the stairs leading down the tower in La Sagrada Familia. It looks a long way down…..
